Can Zombies Blow Out Birthday Candles?

(underwater)

That’s the question.  Can zombies blow out birthday candles?  This is a matter of much debate.  Some people believe that zombies are able to walk underwater across the ocean to get to different continents or islands.  Are zombies able to breathe underwater, or do they just not breathe?  Cause if a zombie can blow out a birthday candle, doesn’t that mean it can breathe?  If it can breathe, does it need to?  If it needs to breathe, how can it walk underwater to another continent?

Certainly a zombie is able to bring air into its body, because as they walk around they grunt, groan, and make screamy noises.  To make these noises, air must be passing over the larynx, around the chest cavity, or through the throat.  I think it is clear that a zombie is able to bring air into its body and expel it as needed.

If that is true, then it is quite clear that a zombie with the desire to do so could certainly blow out birthday candles on a cake.  Now I do not know if zombies celebrate birthdays, or if they even like cake…although I think it is impossible for anyone not to like chocolate caramel cake, especially if there is some ice cream with it.  Either way, if a zombie came across a birthday cake with burning candles on it, the zombie could exhale enough air onto the candles to extinguish them.

In this discussion we will not examine the possibility of the zombie actually eating the cake.

So it seems clear that a zombie can bring air into its lungs and expel that air again with some measure of force.  The question does not stop there though.  Can a zombie do this underwater?

There is a problem with this test.  I find it very difficult to get a birthday cake to stay together when I submerge it in water.  It always falls apart.  It basically disintegrates.  If you do get a cake to stay together, I have found it extremely difficult to get a candle to stay lit underwater.  This makes it very difficult to test a zombie’s ability to blow it out underwater. That is not even mentioning the fact that I do not have a zombie either.  So even if I was able to make a cake that would stay together underwater, and if I could get a candle lit underwater, then I still don’t have a zombie to blow it out.

I think the world may never actually know the answer to this question.  We many never know for sure if a zombie can blow out a candle underwater and thereby be able to walk underwater to different places.

And you know what…who cares?

When I stop and think about it, it seems like much of my life gets filled up with worthless thoughts, questions, and pursuits.  We just wasted I don’t know how much time trying to figure out if a zombie can blow out a candle underwater. LoL.  What a waste.  Here you are with such limited time to spend worshiping God and focusing on Him, but I LITERALLY (that means ‘actually’) stole 10, 15, maybe 20 minutes of time from you and God.  It is gone.  None of you can get it back.  That time which could have been spent in worship, learning, listening, or meaningful thought is no more.

I am not the only one tonight that will attempt to steal your time and your mind.  Friends, enemies, Satan, and even self will seek to have your attention.  Tonight God is the one who deserves it.  He is the One to whom it is due.  Do not let your mind be captured and detoured by another.

Read Luke 12: 13-21 (if time 13-40).

What things are the pursuit of your mind and time?

I love verse 21: “Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth, but not have a rich relationship with God.”

I love verse 19.

Do not let your life be hijacked.  Keep it focused.  Keep it clear.

Oh, God, let my heart be with You.
