‘Pain’
Does God feel pain?
(Write.)
We will get to the question of whether or not God feels pain in a bit. I know I do. I know you do, too.
We all feel physical pain for sure, and we all feel emotional pain.
What is the purpose of pain? Why do we feel it?
(Write.)
I would love to see the answers you put down for that question. We usually think of pain as a bad thing. Don’t we?
Well, it is not. Pain is a good thing and a blessing from God. What does pain do? It tells us when something is wrong, damaged, or broken.
Pain causes – even forces – us to ACT. To change the situation, so seek healing safety and repair.
Does God feel pain…? YES.
Read Genesis 6.
Verse 6 in the NIV Bible says, “The Lord was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain.”
This pain caused God to act.
What pain are you bringing into this place tonight?
Write it all down, as much as you can.
Emotional, Physical, Spiritual, Mental.
What is hurting, what is damaged, what is wrong?
Read Genesis 7.
I love these first words of this chapter, “Go into the ark, you and your whole family because I have found you righteous.”
What a blessed thought, to have a safe place to go, a place of protection and life in the midst of pain. A place where you can be safe and healed even though ALL AROUND you the world is being broken.
The ARK Noah built is often compared to Christ. All who were in the ark were spared from destruction; all who were outside the ark were swept up in a torrent of the world and destroyed.
Christ is our ARK.
He is our Salvation.
Read Philippians 3:7-11.
Look at verse 9. “…and be found in HIM”
In Him we have righteousness, and in Him we have resurrection.
Just like in the days of Noah where the Ark saved the righteous of the earth, so today Christ is the salvation and deliverance of the righteous.
Christ is our Joy and our Strength. What does it mean to be ‘in Him’?
Tonight remember that you are in Christ. In that place find safety, healing, peace, and joy in the midst of storm and destruction.
His safety is REAL.
He never Changes.
He never leaves.
He never fears.
He is all-powerful.
He loves you.
He knows you.
He is at work in you.
He will do great things.
Celebrate your salvation. Find rest in the arms of LIFE. Know that God is faithful
Read 2 Timothy 1:8-12.
He has given life and immortality through the gospel
And He WILL guard what you have entrusted to him…
Your very life.
