Can Zombies Blow Out Birthday Candles?

(underwater)

That’s the question.  Can zombies blow out birthday candles?  This is a matter of much debate.  Some people believe that zombies are able to walk underwater across the ocean to get to different continents or islands.  Are zombies able to breathe underwater, or do they just not breathe?  Cause if a zombie can blow out a birthday candle, doesn’t that mean it can breathe?  If it can breathe, does it need to?  If it needs to breathe, how can it walk underwater to another continent?

Finding

Here you sit ready to worship.  You are here to worship a God who loves you, who saved you, and who is Spirit.  We can’t see Him.  Sometimes we ‘feel’ Him, and sometimes we don’t.  So, how do we FIND Him?  How do we know what He wants?  How do we know what He is saying?  What moves us to love and worship Him?

Fruit Bats

Hide and Go Seek. I know you have all played this game at least once in your life. If not, tell Peter and Mark you want to play after church. Hide and Go Seek is a childhood game. Everyone hides while one person counts to 100. The first person found is “it” next round. Simple. Fun. Exciting.

What makes this person so good? Is it because they are fast? Small? Creative?

Now think of the worst player you know.
What makes them so bad? Is the person loud? Slow?

I was trying to answer the same questions about the best and worst players, and I struggled with my answers. I was trying to think about which of my friends would be best, and each of them has qualities that make them good or bad. Then I thought of God.

Moments of Joy

It was late on a warm summer night.  The Milky Way was stretched all across the dark Wisconsin sky.  The canoe I was in bobbed lightly on the water.  Tall trees surrounded the lake and were silhouetted against the soft moonlight.  The night breezes carried the hoots of owls, the calls of wolves, and the croaks of frogs.  Fireflies danced and burned everywhere.  The smells of pine, water, and night formed a perfume that man could not make.

In the boat with me was my best friend Brad.  Our laughing and talking had stopped about an hour ago.  Those things were exchanged for the awe of the night.  Even though we were only 14 years old we could sense the grandeur of the moment and our surroundings.  In many ways that night was the first night of my life, the first night of both of our lives.  It was the first occasion I remember being conscious of something bigger than me.
