Sand
When we talk about sand what do you think of? I know it! Me too. I think of interstellar dust that swirled together by the force of gravity and cosmic motion to create planets, comets, and meteors. Haha oh. Is that not what you thought of?
Me either really.
Of course, I thought of the beach, of waves and surf, of swimming and volleyball.
We are in the process of building an amazing sand volleyball court
right behind Five Points.

Brick Walls, Pot Holes, Curve Balls
Have you ever had a time when time seemed to stop…when everything just seems to slow down and it’s just you?
Last week I took a few minutes to put myself into reality and I could not believe what was happening. New phases of life are beginning. New relationships are waiting to be made. New decisions are wanting to present themselves. Friends are graduating from high school and college. New lives are starting. Time just stopped for me.
When has time stopped for you?

END
Every year at this time I feel like everything is ending. I feel like it’s all over. Winter is ending, school is ending, relationships (as they were) are ending, and the efforts of this ministry for the past year are ending. I don’t know…it just feels like things are about done.
This is the worst part of being a youth pastor. Every year a group of people that you have spent seven years with leave you. You have watched them grow and change from crazy little seventh graders to semi-mature high school grads. Now after spending all that time and energy, after prayers and tears – and with sadness – they leave. I hate it.

LEARN
If you were here last week and did the devotion called “Hello” you learned that my wife had just left on a mission trip.
I am now into the second week of her being gone. I am learning so many lessons with her being gone that I feel like I am the one on the mission trip.
I want to share with you one of my experiences from this past week.
