One
One isn’t my lucky number, but it is one of my favorites. One is just such a special thing. Sometimes one is really good. Sometimes one stinks.
One Dorito stinks. One wheel on my bike is no good. One guitar string is about worthless. One day cruise = boo. Anytime more is better, then one stinks.
There are some things that ONE is exactly right for though.

URGENCY
What if fire-breathing dragons were real? What if you could breathe underwater? What if you could fly? What if you could freeze time???
What if there was an all-powerful being that could do the UNthinkable?

‘Prepare’
B2SR is THIS WEEKEND!! I cannot believe it is time for the Back-to-school-retreat already. The youth staff, volunteers, speaker, band, and many others have been working very hard to be prepared for this weekend. I personally was in the midst of working hard on something for the retreat and found myself saying, “wow, I sure am doing a lot of work for this retreat. It is really good of me to do all this.” Then it was like God just brought my mind to all that He has and is doing to prepare this time for all of you. His work, His preparations for you are SOOOOOOOOOO much greater than even my best work for you. Look what He is doing. Look what He has done…for you…for His GLORY.

Have You Ever Got an “A”
WOOOOHOOOO!! I’m sooo happy. Uuuurgh this is horrible. AHHHHHH!! That was so scary. Mfffffff. I’m bored. Life is just full of all these crazy feelings.
In a day I go through so many thoughts and feelings. How about you? Think about today. What feelings have you already had today?

Help me Pharaoh
August is such a strange time of year. I always have a huge sense of things “ending”. Maybe because I have always loved summers so much. Every year when they end I am sad. At the same time, though, so many things are starting…sports, school, church groups, new friends, and many more. Those things fill me with hope and excitement about what might be.
The other night I was thinking about all the things starting. A deep sense of hope welled up inside me. Read more
